Resources
During the last years important scientific resources were build up thanks to the support of the participating institutions, the state of Schleswig-Holstein and Cluster funds. Including multidisciplinary centers and technology platforms.
Centers
Biobanking
A unique and important resource of the Cluster of Excellence is the population representative biobank popgen which includes 75.000 samples of various diseases and control groups.
Funding through BMBF (Federal Ministry for Education and Research) received for popgen 2.0 will allow to centralize important smaller biobanks and further improve popgen.
Researchers of popgen and the Cluster are also involved in a pilot study for establishing a large national biobank "national cohort" financed through the BMBF
